We made a stop in Patuxent River Maryland to see Ryan and his new wife Cam. Ryan is a Test Pilot for the Navy. It's an elite position coveted by most naval aviators as he gets to test out all of the upcoming planes being "piloted" (no pun intended) by the US military. It's the job that an astronaut has before being eligible to become an astronaut. It was good to see him and the new wonderful wife God has blessed him with. Josh and Ryan were going to try and go for a flight in the T-34 at the test squadron but the weather was bad and flying was not possible. Well the weather that caused them not to fly was the storm that caused all the trouble in the midwest and other parts of the country. So, when we woke up Tuesday morning, it started to snow in Pax River and as we drove to Annapolis Maryland it really started to snow!! It made the 1 hour trip take over 2.5 hours, not a big deal but just more time in the car. The only scary things is that East Coast drivers totally freak out when they see snow, and we probably saw 6 spinouts/wrecks in the short trip..... Dear Eastern Seaboard, when it snows, SLOW DOWN and no sudden turn, it makes snow driving easy...... Next Stop Annapolis MD.
We stopped in Annapolis to see our friend, Andy. He currently works at the US Naval Academy as a sailing officer. He gave us the grand tour of Annapolis which is BEAUTIFUL for anyone who is considering visiting. Hold of till Spring though as the winter proved to be FREEZING!
