This was a beautiful old church lots of history here. There were many great Italians buried here. Michelangelo, Dante, and Galileo just to name a few. I guess back in those days it was no different, everyone was trying to build a bigger and more beautiful church than the guy across the street. (I think they sang hymns) It's a shame that they are not used much anymore for the intended purpose.
